"Atomic Magnetometer" by Michael J. Souza

The title of the article is "An Ultra-Sensitive Atomic Magnetometer" by Michael J. Souza

An aluminosilicate glass cell was used to create an Atomic Magnetometer so sensitive that it is believed to have a measured field sensitivity greater than two magnitudes higher than any previous recorded magnetometer. This paper will describe the principals of magnetometers, the construction of the cell and its possible applications..

The title of the article is "The Firewagon Concept for Public Outreach" by Tracy O. Drier and Tim A. Drier

The Firewagon concept involves a safe, efficient and portable glassblowing podium which is used for public outreach. Because of the unique aspect of scientific glassblowing, we have an exciting opportunity through outreach to further our dialog with the public regarding glass, glassblowing and our contributions and value to science and scientific research.

“Pyrex Brewster Cell with Windows Vacuum Fused Using Glass Transfer Tape" by John E. Fuller

Sometimes there are cell designs that are difficult or impossible to fabricate using flame optical fusing techniques. Brewster Angle cells are not impossible, but ones with large body diameters can be difficult to make. By using glass transfer tapes and vacuum sealing, the problems associated with optical fusing can be avoided. The result is a visually pleasing, functional seal.
